Conditions of Entry – That’s Life Great Aussie Pie Contest
1. Information on “how to enter” and prizes form part of conditions of entry.
2. Enter as many times as you wish. Bakeries are invited to nominate themselves in the That’s Life Great Aussie Pie Contest.
3. To register, a reader or the Promoter can nominate a bakery or a bakery can nominate themselves. Readers and bakeries can nominate by completing the original entry coupon in That’s Life! Magazine and sending to: ‘That’s Life! Great Aussie Pie Contest Nominations Competition’ PO Box 62 Eastern Suburbs MC NSW 2004.
4. At the conclusion of the promotion 50 nominees will be randomly drawn to win $50 cash. Once registered, the bakery will be sent a poster with a voting code that they can hang in store. Readers, or members of the public, will be encouraged to vote for their favourite pie by sending an SMS starting with the bakery code, plus their name and address details to 197 10 179. Alternatively, they can vote by ringing 1900 955 031 and enter the bakery code plus leave their name, address and phone details.
5. The 10 bakeries with the highest number of votes will be finalists. A judging panel will taste each of the 10 pies from these bakeries and announce the national winner. The winning pie shop will receive a certificate, trophy and $2000 cash. After the National finalist has been awarded, the two national finalists with the highest number of votes (excluding the National winner), will receive second and third prize, and be awarded $1000 and $500 cash respectively. There will be state prizes awarded to the bakery in each state with the most votes. They will receive a certificate and $200 cash. People voting for their favourite pie will be entered into the draw to win one of 5 x $500 cash prizes.
6. Entry is open to all residents of Australia except employees and immediate families of the Promoter, associated companies and agencies and participating outlets. The Promoter is Pacific Magazines Pty Ltd, 35–51 Mitchell Street, McMahons Point, NSW, 2060 (ABN 16 097 410 896).

8. Total prize value is up to $10,950, as at 28/05/08 and includes:
· 5 x $500 cash prizes (voting prizes);
· 1 x trophy and certificate valued up to $350 and $2000 cash (National winner);
· 1 x trophy and certificate valued up to $300 and $1000 cash (2nd prize)
· 1 x trophy and certificate valued up to $200 and $500 cash (3rd prize);
· 8 x certificates and $200 cash (state winners);
· 50 x $50 cash (nominee prizes).
Prizes are not transferable, redeemable or exchangeable for cash. Cash prize will be awarded in the form of a cheque, made payable to the winner.
9. The judges’ decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding on each person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries. Prizes are subject to availability, not transferable or exchangeable and, with the exception of cash prizes, cannot be taken as cash.
10. Prizes will be sent to the winner’s nominated address as stated in their original entry. The Promoter and their associated agencies, and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.
11. Limit of one prize per household (excl. SA residents who are entitled to win more than one prize). Please provide a street address instead of a PO Box address to make delivering of your prize easier. PO boxes will not be discarded, but there may be a delay in receiving your prize.
12. The cost of sending an SMS message is the entrant’s responsibility and will not exceed 55 cents including GST. Some service providers and call plans may not provide access to Premium SMS. Entrants must ensure that all care is taken when sending messages to enter this SMS promotion. It is the entrant’s responsibility to SMS the correct number. The Promoter will not be liable for costs incurred, responses received or any other consequences of user error. Any SMS entries submitted after the promotion period has closed will not be included in the promotion and will be charged 55 cents (including GST).
13. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned including infection by mobile phone failure, line drop out, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter [subject to any written directions given under the Lottery And Gaming Regulations 1993 (SA)] reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, or providers, technical problems of the phone or of any phone network, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person’s phone related to or resulting from participation or sending or receiving of any communication or of any materials in this competition.
14. The winners will be notified by mail and names of winners of prizes over the value of $100 will be published in That’s Life! magazine issue 39, on sale 17/09/08.
15. Prizes will be sent within 28 days of the draw date.
16. The Promoter may conduct such further draws on 01/12/08 at the same time and place as original draw in order to distribute any prizes unclaimed by this date, subject to any written directions given under the Regulations of the Lottery and Gaming Regulations 1993 (SA) or other applicable legislation. Winners of any further draws will be published in the Australian on 08/12/08.
17. The Promoter collects entrants’ personal information in order to conduct the promotion and notify winners. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion.
18. Entrants’ personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. 19. In participating in the prizes, the winners agree to participate and co-operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. The winners (and their companions) agree to granting the promoter a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winners (and their companions) will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
20. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered, including but not limited to direct or consequential loss, or personal injury suffered or sustained during the course of prize winning trips or in connection with the redemption of and/or use of any other prizes. Any change in value of the prize occurring between the publishing date and date the prize is claimed is not the responsibility of the Promoter.
