Last Thursday Pacific CEO, Gereurd Roberts and Pacific Head of Digital Product & Technology, Will Everitt spoke at Mumbrella Publish 2018, speaking about key areas in the publishing business.

Gereurd Roberts, tackled the question that is forefront of aspiring leaders in the publishing and digital media industry;“How can you be successful in managerial business roles, and what skills and experience will help prepare you for the C-suite?”

Will Everitt, Head of Digital Product & Technology speaking on the UX and Publishing panel.

As one of the industry’s leaders with two decades of media and digital experience having worked at The Guardian, Bauer and Seven West Media, and having risen to executive leadership, Gereurd is well placed to offer advice that has seen him successfully make the transition from a journalist to the CEO of one of the most influential, iconic and leading media companies in Australia.

Will Everitt, spoke about how user experience (UX) is having a significant impact in the digital publishing industry. Will has been behind a number of significant revamps of the Pacific titles, and so understands the importance of exemplary user experience, and its impacts to customers. Will understands that a well balanced approach is needed to not only delight customers but also ensure sustainable revenue generation.

Pacific has recently implemented a number of premium UX initiatives across key brands including InStyle, Better Homes & Gardens, New Idea and Women’s Health.  Will, in his panel session noted that these initiatives increased engagement by making changes that consider both business and customer thinking. At the heart of Will’s view of good UX is minimised visual clutter, simplified content discovery with a focus on conversion and ensuring a visually consistent brand experience through the user’s journey.
